Hyderabad Man Held for Alleged Electrocution Plot Against Mother-in-Law
In a shocking incident from Telangana, the Jagtial police have apprehended a 48-year-old man on Saturday for his alleged involvement in a sinister attempt to murder his mother-in-law through electrocution. The arrest took place in Jagadevpet village, following a swift investigation into the case.
Details of the Arrest and Evidence Seized
The accused has been identified as G Mallareddy, who now faces serious charges. During the operation, law enforcement officials confiscated critical evidence, including a wire and metal rods that were purportedly utilized in the failed assassination attempt. These items are believed to have been instrumental in the crime, which targeted his mother-in-law, Rajavva.
Confession and Motive Behind the Crime
Upon interrogation, Mallareddy admitted to the police that his actions were driven by personal vendetta. He confessed that after his wife, Padma, decided to separate from him and declined to return home, he held Rajavva responsible for influencing her daughter's choice. This belief fueled his drastic and dangerous plan.
Execution of the Electrocution Attempt
The accused meticulously orchestrated the attack by connecting a live wire to a switchboard attached to an electric pole. He then extended a long metal wire from this setup all the way to the main entrance of Rajavva's residence. On Saturday morning, when Rajavva opened her door, she accidentally stumbled and received an electric shock. Fortunately, she managed to escape with only injuries, avoiding a fatal outcome.
Aftermath and Legal Proceedings
After the incident, Rajavva alerted local residents, who discovered the hazardous connection of the metal wire to the live source. Based on a formal complaint filed by Rajavva, Mallareddy was promptly arrested and subsequently sent to judicial remand. In her statement, the complainant also revealed that Padma had chosen to stay away from her husband due to alleged harassment, adding context to the family dispute.
This case highlights the severe consequences of domestic conflicts and underscores the importance of swift police action in preventing potential tragedies. The Jagtial police continue to investigate further details to ensure justice is served.
