A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj district, where a 20-year-old woman was brutally assaulted by her husband. According to police, the man inserted an iron pipe into her private parts following a petty domestic dispute. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Rewa, and her condition is reported to be stable.

Incident Details

The incident took place in a village under the Shahpur police station area on Sunday afternoon. The woman was rushed to the hospital by her family. Initially, the family did not report the matter to the police. However, upon receiving information, a police team from Mauganj reached Rewa and recorded the victim's statement. A case has been registered against the husband, and a search operation is underway to arrest the accused.

Victim's Statement

In her statement to the police, the woman said she was married to the accused in 2023. On May 14 this year, she saw him talking to another girl and recorded a video of him. When the husband saw her recording, he broke her phone. On Sunday afternoon, around 2 pm, her husband started abusing her mother and other relatives. When she intervened, the dispute escalated. He began beating her and later inserted an iron pipe into her private parts, causing severe injuries.

Police Response

Superintendent of Police Mauganj, Surendra Jain, told Times of India, "We received information about the incident and sent a team to Rewa. The victim's statement was recorded, and we are hopeful of arresting the accused soon. Her condition is stable now."

Police have launched a hunt for the accused husband, and further investigations are ongoing. This case highlights the urgent need for stricter action against domestic violence and better protection for women in rural areas.
