A 21-year-old man died after jumping from the fifth floor of Radha Sky Garden Society in Greater Noida West on Friday night, minutes after allegedly attacking his mother with a kitchen knife, police said.
Incident Details
According to authorities, an argument broke out between the youth and his mother around 8 pm over a domestic matter. During the altercation, he allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and attacked her, causing minor injuries to her shoulder. He then left the apartment and jumped from the fifth floor.
Residents attempted CPR before emergency services arrived. The man was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Family Background
His family said he had been struggling with mental health issues and largely remained at home. The mother received medical treatment and is reported to be out of danger.
Police Investigation
Bisrakh police took custody of the body and sent it for autopsy. A senior officer said the preliminary investigation points to a family dispute. Though no formal complaint has been filed, police are questioning relatives to establish the sequence of events.
