Tragic Accident at Barh Railway Station Claims Life
A fatal incident occurred at Barh railway station under the Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a man who was struck by the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express (train number 22348).
Details of the Incident
According to Danapur RPF Commandant Uday Singh Pawar, the accident took place around 9 a.m. on platform number 2. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly moved to the edge of the platform to spit after chewing tobacco. At that moment, the Vande Bharat Express, which does not stop at Barh station, arrived and hit him, causing him to fall onto the platform with severe head injuries.
Bakhtiyarpur RPF Inspector Jawahar Lal stated that Barh RPF and GRP personnel immediately rushed to the scene and transported the injured man to Barh Sadar Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Possible Causes and Investigation
Inspector Jawahar Lal suggested that the man might have had hearing issues, as the train likely blew its horn following railway protocol before passing through the station. He may not have heard the warning, leading to the tragic accident.
GRP officials at Barh have registered a case of unnatural death (UD) and are conducting further investigations. The body has been sent to a government hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
