Tragic Early Morning Crash Claims Life, Injures Family on Vikas Marg
A devastating road accident in east Delhi has resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man and left his wife and two children injured. The incident occurred on Vikas Marg in the early hours of Thursday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded around 1:30 AM near the Geeta Colony cut on Vikas Marg. A car collided with a motorcycle that was carrying four individuals—the man, his wife, and their two children. The family was returning home to NSA Colony in Vishwas Nagar from Connaught Place at the time of the crash.
All four victims were rushed to Hedgewar Hospital for immediate medical attention. Tragically, Neeraj, the 35-year-old husband and father, was declared brought dead during treatment. His wife, Sonam, and their children sustained injuries and are currently undergoing medical care at the hospital.
Police Response and Investigation
The Shakarpur police station received a PCR call regarding the accident at approximately 1:50 AM. The caller informed authorities that the injured had already been transported to a hospital and that the driver of the offending vehicle had been detained by bystanders at the scene.
Police teams swiftly arrived at the location and initiated a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the collision. The body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of LNJP Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Accused Driver Apprehended
The accused driver, identified as Sachin Gulati, a 45-year-old resident of Sector-31 in Noida, was apprehended at the spot by members of the public before police arrival. Authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident, and further investigation is actively underway to ascertain the factors that led to this fatal crash.
