Man Missing for 3 Weeks Found Murdered in Vaishali River

In a shocking discovery, the body of a man who had been missing for more than three weeks was found brutally murdered and stuffed inside a sack in a river in Bihar's Vaishali district. The grim find has sent ripples through the local community and prompted a major police investigation.

Gruesome Discovery in Dagru Village

The body of 30-year-old Munna Kumar, also known as Murlidhar, was recovered from a river near Dagru village on Tuesday afternoon. The recovery took place within the jurisdiction of the Mahua police station. According to officials, the body was found packed inside a sack, with the victim's face severely crushed, pointing towards an exceptionally violent killing.

The discovery was made after local residents spotted a leg protruding from the sack floating in the river. They immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the scene to retrieve the remains. The body was later sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for a detailed postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause and circumstances of death.

Victim's Background and NIA Raid Connection

Munna Kumar, a resident of Gauspur Chakmujahid, had been reported missing since November 22. Mahua Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Ranjan confirmed that the victim had no known criminal record. However, in a significant twist, police revealed that Munna's house had been raided earlier by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

This previous raid by the premier anti-terror agency has now become a crucial angle in the murder probe. Investigators are actively working to determine if there is any connection between the NIA's action and his subsequent kidnapping and killing. "This is clearly a case of murder. The condition of the body suggests it was a planned act," stated the police, underscoring the premeditated nature of the crime.

Family Tragedy and Ongoing Investigation

The case has compounded a tragedy for the victim's family. Police noted that Munna Kumar was living with his brother, as both their parents had passed away. The family members formally identified the body on Wednesday and subsequently took it for the final rites.

An FIR (First Information Report) is set to be registered in the case, marking the formal start of the legal process. The police investigation is currently focused on tracing Munna Kumar's movements and activities in the period leading up to his disappearance on November 22. Every detail is being scrutinized to piece together the timeline of events that led to this brutal murder.

As the probe intensifies, the local community in Vaishali remains in a state of shock, awaiting answers and justice for the gruesome killing that has unfolded in their midst.
