A 27-year-old man sustained serious injuries after unidentified assailants opened fire on him near a hotel on the border of the Fatuha and Khusrupur police station areas in Patna district on Sunday. The incident occurred around 1pm when the victim, Vikas Kumar alias Sikandar, a resident of Nalanda district, was traveling for personal work.
Attack Details
According to police reports, three unidentified bike-borne attackers intercepted Vikas and fired at him, resulting in a bullet injury to his left arm. Despite being wounded, Vikas demonstrated remarkable courage by riding his motorcycle for over 5 kilometers to reach a police vehicle. Police immediately shifted him to the Fatuha Community Health Centre, where he received first aid before being referred to Patna Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Police Investigation Underway
Additional SHO Chandan Kumar stated, “The case is being thoroughly investigated based on the statement of the injured and other available evidence. Raids are on and the culprits will be arrested soon.” Authorities are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify and trace the attackers, who fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
The police have registered a case and are working to apprehend the suspects. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
