Man shot dead in Shahdara during peace meeting

A 27-year-old man was brutally shot dead in Delhi's Shahdara area on Friday night, in a shocking incident that unfolded just moments after he had arrived to settle a dispute with two acquaintances.

The Fatal Meeting

According to police officials, the victim, identified as Gagan Aahi, had gone to meet two men he had recently quarreled with for what was supposed to be a reconciliation meeting. The meeting took place near a sweet shop in V-Block, Shahdara, around 11:00 PM on Friday.

Police received information about the shooting at 11:09 PM on Friday. A team from the local police station immediately rushed to the location. "When the police team reached the spot, it was found that a firing incident had taken place and the injured, Gagan Aahi—who is listed as a Bad Character (BC) in the area—sustained a bullet injury," stated DCP Shahdara Prashant Gautam.

Immediate Aftermath and Investigation

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right temple and was quickly transported to GTB Hospital for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead upon arrival.

Initial investigations reveal that two accused arrived on a motorcycle and carried out the shooting. Police have successfully detained one of the suspects along with the motorcycle used in the crime, while a intensive search operation is underway to locate the second accused.

Police Action and Case Registration

Authorities have confirmed that Gagan had recently been involved in an altercation with the two accused persons. The meeting was reportedly organized to resolve their differences when the violent shooting occurred instead.

A formal case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The investigation continues as police work to uncover the complete sequence of events and motive behind the deadly attack.
