Faridabad Taxi Driver Fatally Stabbed After Confronting Harassers
A tragic incident unfolded in Faridabad on Monday evening when a 32-year-old man lost his life after bravely intervening to stop the harassment of a young girl. The victim, identified as Jai Singh, a resident of Girdawar colony under the jurisdiction of the Palla police station, succumbed to multiple stab wounds inflicted by a group of youths.
Details of the Harassment and Confrontation
According to police reports, the events began on Monday afternoon when Jai Singh was relaxing in a park near his home with his friend, Saurabh. A boy approached Singh, seeking assistance and alleging that some youths in the park were harassing his sister. Demonstrating courage, Singh confronted the harassers, threatened them, and successfully chased them away from the scene.
The Fatal Attack and Aftermath
The situation took a deadly turn around 8 PM when four to five youths returned to the park armed with knives. They launched a vicious attack on Singh, stabbing him seven to eight times, with several wounds concentrated on his chest. Hearing his desperate screams, Singh's wife, Aarti, rushed to the park only to find her husband lying in a pool of blood.
Saurabh quickly transported the critically injured Singh to BK Civil Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival, citing the severe nature of his injuries. In a concerning development, Saurabh initially attempted to flee the hospital after leaving the body, but vigilant colony residents apprehended him and handed him over to the police. He later provided crucial details about the crime to the authorities.
Police Response and Investigation
Police officials arrived at the hospital after being notified by hospital authorities. They took possession of the body and, following a post-mortem examination, handed it over to the grieving family members. A formal murder case has been registered at the Palla police station based on a complaint filed by Singh's brother, Jagat.
The primary accused named in the First Information Report (FIR) are Sonu and Tushar, along with other unidentified individuals, all of whom are residents of the same colony. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Palla police station confirmed that intensive raids are currently underway to locate and arrest the suspects. The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together the complete sequence of events.

Jai Singh worked as a taxi driver and lived in Girdawar colony with his family. He was the youngest of three brothers and is survived by his wife, Aarti, and their two young daughters.
