Man Allegedly Stabbed to Death by In-Laws in Lucknow Over Marriage Dispute

A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow late Monday night, resulting in the alleged stabbing death of a 24-year-old man by his in-laws. The shocking event occurred in the Kakori area, where police report that the victim, Ramsagar, was attacked after visiting his wife's village amid disturbing claims that her family was planning to marry her off to another person.

Details of the Fatal Altercation

According to official police statements, the incident took place around 10 pm on Monday near an orchard on the outskirts of Lalatakheda village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kakori police station. The deceased, identified as Ramsagar, was a resident of Madhotanda in Pilibhit district. He had married Kamini in December 2024, a union that was reportedly against the wishes of her family.

A formal complaint lodged by Ramsagar's brother, Rahul, revealed that Kamini had been staying at her parental home in Lalatakheda for some time. Her family was allegedly making active preparations to solemnize her marriage to another individual. Upon learning this troubling information, Ramsagar and Rahul traveled to the village with dual intentions: to bring Kamini back and to ascertain whether she consented to the proposed marriage or was being coerced into it.

Escalation of Conflict and Fatal Attack

When Ramsagar arrived at the village, a heated argument erupted between him and his in-laws. The individuals involved were identified as Bhima Gautam, his sons Sumit and Amit, and a relative named Pankaj. The situation quickly escalated from verbal confrontation to physical violence.

SHO of Kakori, Suresh Singh, stated that the argument turned into a physical altercation. DCP (West Zone) Vishwajeet Srivastava provided further details, indicating that Sumit allegedly attacked Ramsagar with a knife, inflicting multiple severe injuries to his abdomen and chest. Rahul was also assaulted when he attempted to intervene and protect his brother. The accused individuals fled the scene as local residents began to gather in response to the commotion.

Aftermath and Police Response

Ramsagar was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre in Sarojininagar for emergency medical treatment. Tragically, doctors at the facility declared him dead upon arrival. The local police have registered a formal case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.

In a significant development, law enforcement authorities have detained all four named accused individuals for intensive questioning. The police are working to gather additional evidence and witness statements to build a comprehensive case. This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the severe consequences of familial disputes over marriage arrangements.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to determine the full sequence of events and establish the precise motives behind this violent confrontation. The case underscores the critical importance of addressing marital conflicts through legal and peaceful means rather than resorting to violence.
