A 32-year-old man was fatally stabbed while attempting to intervene in a family dispute in Palakkad district on Sunday night. The incident occurred at Pothundy Kalnadu near Nenmara, around 10 pm.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Ajith, a resident of Kalnadu. Police have taken his cousin, Sijin, into custody for questioning in connection with the case.
Sequence of Events
According to police reports, a quarrel broke out among family members at the location. Ajith stepped in to pacify the situation and resolve the dispute. However, during the altercation, he was allegedly attacked and stabbed by a relative.
Following the attack, family members and local residents rushed Ajith to the Nenmara community health centre. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to a private hospital in Nenmara for advanced treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation Underway
Nenmara police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. The motive behind the family dispute is being probed, and further details are awaited.
