Man strangled by wife and sons in Mathura domestic quarrel

A 54-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his wife, three sons, and a nephew during a domestic quarrel in Mathura, police said. The accused then attempted to mislead investigators by hanging the body in a room and later dumping it in a neighbor's backyard.

Arrests Made

Police arrested all five accused on Saturday night. They were identified as Rahul (28), Rohit (25), and Saurabh (20), sons of the deceased Bohare Lal; their mother Santosh Devi (50); and cousin Brijesh (42).

Incident Details

Bohare Lal, a resident of Unchagaon village under Magorra police station, was found dead on April 22. An FIR was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 103(1) (murder) and 238 (destroying evidence) based on a complaint by his son Saurabh.

Mogarra SHO Harish Chaudhary said investigators discovered that the deceased was allegedly addicted to alcohol and frequently quarreled with family members. On April 22, Bohare Lal returned home drunk and got into a heated argument with his family. During a scuffle, family members attempted to restrain him by placing a cloth towel around his neck, leading to his death.

Attempt to Mislead

Goverdhan circle DSP Anil Kumar Singh said the accused tried to mislead police by hanging the body with a rope in a room and later dumping it in a pond behind a locked house in the neighborhood.

According to police, the deceased was jobless and depended on his sons' income for survival.
