Simmi, who was a Christian, eventually moved into Zoya's rented house. Reports suggest that she allegedly entered into a relationship with Zoya's brother, adding a personal dimension to the unfolding tragedy.
Events Leading to the Death and Cremation Attempt
On Wednesday evening, Simmi reportedly succumbed to what was described as a prolonged illness. Zoya promptly informed Simmi's husband, Mangenik Harkip, who is also known as Jhon and resides in New Delhi. By the time Jhon arrived in Jhansi with a friend on Thursday, Zoya's brother had already initiated efforts to cremate the body. However, the cremation ground in-charge intervened and halted the process upon discovering Simmi's Christian religious background and the lack of necessary verification documents.
This abrupt attempt at cremation without proper procedures immediately raised red flags and prompted Jhon to alert the local authorities.
