Masked Gang Executes Daring Robbery in Agra, Steals 30 Kg of Silver
In a brazen early-morning heist, a gang of masked criminals targeted a residence in Agra, making off with approximately 30 kilograms of silver and other valuable items. The incident occurred in the Nagla Chhidami locality under the Etmadaullah police station limits, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Intricate Break-In
According to the family of Ramdutt Agrawal, who operates a small chain-manufacturing unit from his home where silver is processed into jewellery, the robbery was meticulously planned. Six miscreants initially entered the house by cutting through the concrete roof, demonstrating a high level of sophistication in their approach. Once inside, they opened the main gate to allow four more accomplices to join them, indicating the involvement of at least ten individuals in total.
The gang swiftly decamped with the silver and other materials linked to the manufacturing unit, leaving the family devastated and raising serious questions about security in the area. Local residents have expressed growing concerns over the effectiveness of night patrolling, citing this incident as a stark example of vulnerabilities in crime prevention efforts.
Police Response and Legal Action
In response to the robbery, law enforcement authorities have taken immediate action. A case has been registered under sections 331 (robbery) and 305 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Assistant Commissioner of Police Shemany Upadhayay confirmed that specialized teams have been formed to trace the culprits and recover the stolen goods.
This incident highlights the need for enhanced security measures in residential areas, particularly those housing valuable assets like precious metals. The Agra police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, as investigations continue into this audacious crime.
