Trichy: A tragic incident occurred near Manapparai in Trichy district on Saturday when a 50-year-old mason was electrocuted while attempting to repair a power disruption. The deceased has been identified as N Innasi, a resident of Periyapatti village.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, Innasi was trying to restore electricity to his home on his own. Around 10 am, he climbed onto a transformer located approximately 50 meters from his house at N Poolampatty to replace a fuse. Unfortunately, he was electrocuted during the process and died instantly.
Unauthorized Repair Work
Police stated that Innasi had undertaken the repair work without any authorization. The transformer was not disconnected, leading to the fatal shock. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, who are living separately.
Manapparai police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the matter. Authorities urge the public to avoid tampering with electrical equipment and to report any power issues to the concerned authorities.
