Prayagraj: Kareli police on Friday arrested a criminal identified as Mohd Rashid Durani (34), a resident of Kasari Masari, in connection with the killing of property dealer Mohd Irfan. Durani was carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.
Details of the Incident
According to police, a city-based property dealer, Irfan, was allegedly shot dead by a group of miscreants near a tea stall in the Guas Nagar area under the limits of Kareli police station on April 8. An FIR was lodged in the case.
Mastermind Behind the Murder
Police said that Rashid Durani was the mastermind behind the property dealer’s murder. He had been evading arrest since the incident. Authorities are now looking for his brother, Mohd Aasif Durani, for his involvement in the crime. Aasif is currently absconding.
Five criminal cases were pending against Rashid. With this arrest, a total of four arrests have been made in the case so far. The investigation is ongoing, and police are making efforts to apprehend the remaining accused.
