Mathura Family Tragedy: Postmortem Report Confirms Strangulation and Electrocution
In a shocking development from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district, the postmortem report of five family members found dead in their home has revealed gruesome details. The autopsy confirms the woman and three children died from strangulation, while the man succumbed to electrocution.
Detailed Postmortem Findings
The postmortem examination, conducted on Tuesday, showed severe head injuries and clear strangulation marks on the body of 32-year-old Seema. All three children—two daughters and a son—displayed evident pressure marks on their necks, confirming death by strangulation. For 35-year-old Manish Kumar, the report indicated electrocution as the cause of death, with burn marks visible on his hands.
Police Investigation and Sequence of Events
SP (Rural) Suresh Chandra Rawat provided a chilling account based on initial findings. "The postmortem report suggests Manish first attacked his wife Seema with a heavy stone, then strangled her with a rope," Rawat stated. "He proceeded to strangle their three children individually before deliberately touching a live wire to electrocute himself."
Police recovered a bloodstained pestle (moosal) from the room, corroborating the violent nature of the attack. The killings are believed to have occurred between 3 am and 4 am on Tuesday.
Suicide Notes and Video Evidence
In a disturbing twist, Manish left multiple suicide notes and recorded a video before his death around 4:30 am. Police found writings at four separate locations:
- On a room wall
- On two loose pages
- In a personal diary
The wall message read: "Seema and I are committing suicide of our own will. Police should not bother anyone." In the video recording, Manish spoke about ending his life and appealed that others not be harassed due to his actions. Both the video and written notes are currently under examination by forensic experts.
Police Investigation Angles
No formal FIR has been filed yet, with police maintaining only a General Diary Entry. "We are investigating whether Manish was suffering from depression or psychological stress," SP Rawat explained. "We're also examining potential external influences."
Regarding occult practice suspicions, police briefly detained a local resident for questioning but released him after preliminary investigation.
Family Background and Final Rites
The deceased family included Manish Kumar (35), his wife Seema (32), their daughters Hunny (5) and Priyanshi (4), and two-year-old son Pankaj. They were found dead in their Khapparpur village home under Mahavan police station jurisdiction.
Manish worked as a farmer with approximately three bighas of ancestral land and reportedly had no outstanding loans. His two daughters attended school regularly. The couple had been married for eight years, with Manish's two brothers living separately in the same village.
The postmortem report was officially handed to police on Wednesday. Final rites were performed on Tuesday evening—the couple was cremated, while the three children were buried due to their young age. The last rites were conducted by Rishabh, the 15-year-old son of Manish's elder brother Sudhir.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the Mathura community as police continue their investigation into the circumstances that led to this family's devastating end.
