A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old married man and a suicide attempt by his minor girlfriend. The case has sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted a police investigation.
Fatal Shooting Near Temple
Arjun Singh, a resident of Suhagpur village under the Naujheel police station jurisdiction, was sitting with friends near a temple when he was approached by two individuals. The assailants were identified as Harsh Singh (21), the brother of Arjun's minor girlfriend, and his cousin Bobby (23).
According to police reports, the duo took Arjun toward the temple under the pretext of discussing a matter. Once they reached the temple premises, Harsh allegedly fired at Arjun using a country-made pistol. The sudden attack left Arjun critically injured.
Family members immediately rushed the victim to the nearby community health center. Unfortunately, doctors declared Arjun dead upon arrival, confirming the fatal nature of the shooting.
Minor Girl's Suicide Attempt
As news of Arjun's death spread through the village, the minor girlfriend, whose relationship with the married man allegedly triggered the violence, attempted to take her own life. She was found hanging inside her house by family members.
Alerted by her mother's screams, villagers quickly intervened and brought the girl down. She was first taken to a local hospital for initial treatment before being referred to a hospital in Mathura city due to the seriousness of her condition.
Later, as her condition remained critical, she was transferred to SN Medical College in Agra for specialized medical care. The incident has highlighted the emotional turmoil surrounding the case.
