Meerut Police Crack Daurala Death Mystery, Reveal Arsenic Murder Conspiracy
In a significant breakthrough, Meerut police have solved the mysterious deaths of three men in the Daurala area, which were initially suspected to be caused by spurious liquor consumption. Detailed investigations have uncovered a chilling pre-planned murder conspiracy involving arsenic poisoning, leading to the arrest of three accused, including the sister of one of the deceased victims.
Initial Investigation and Forensic Findings
On April 3, police were alerted that three men—identified as Jitendra, Ankit alias Daulat, and Baburam—had been admitted unconscious to Aryavart Hospital, where they later succumbed during treatment. Senior officials immediately rushed to the scene, and forensic teams meticulously collected samples for analysis. Initial findings pointed toward illicit liquor consumption as the likely cause, but subsequent laboratory reports ruled out common toxins like methanol and chloral hydrate, raising serious suspicions about the true nature of the deaths.
Unraveling the Conspiracy Through Surveillance
Through a combination of detailed CCTV footage analysis, technical surveillance, and extensive local inquiries, investigators pieced together a disturbing conspiracy. The breakthrough came during interrogations, where accused Pawan Ahlawat alias Poli confessed to hatching the murder plot along with Alka, the sister of deceased Ankit. According to police statements, Alka was allegedly distressed by her brother's abusive behavior and addiction issues, leading her to conspire in his elimination.
Execution of the Poisoning Plot
Pawan procured a poisonous chemical, later identified as arsenic, from co-accused Ashok Verma for Rs 500. He then mixed this lethal substance into a liquor pouch, which was subsequently consumed by Ankit. Tragically, the two other victims also drank from the same contaminated pouch, resulting in their untimely deaths. This calculated act transformed what appeared to be a case of accidental poisoning into a deliberate homicide.
Official Statements and Case Complexity
ADG of Meerut Zone, Bhanu Bhaskar, described the case as highly challenging, noting that it initially seemed to stem from spurious liquor. However, careful forensic analysis and detailed questioning revealed the true cause: arsenic poisoning orchestrated by the victim's own sister. The arrests underscore the meticulous police work required to differentiate between accidental deaths and premeditated crimes in complex investigations.
