On April 3, police were alerted that three men—identified as Jitendra, Ankit alias Daulat, and Baburam—had been admitted unconscious to Aryavart Hospital, where they later succumbed during treatment. Pawan procured a poisonous chemical, later identified as arsenic, from co-accused Ashok Verma for Rs 500. He then mixed this lethal substance into a liquor pouch, which was subsequently consumed by Ankit.
