A tragic late-night drive in a Mercedes-Benz SUV ended in a fatal accident near Hoskote on Friday, shortly after midnight. The vehicle crashed into a divider on the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), resulting in the deaths of two occupants.

Details of the Accident

The driver, Rizwan, a 30-year-old used-car dealer, was thrown from the SUV and fell into a water-filled area beneath a bridge. His companion, Saajiya, 23, died at the scene. According to police, the second-hand SUV belonged to one of Rizwan's clients, who had entrusted it to him for resale.

Rizwan had picked up Saajiya, a resident of Kammanahalli, and driven toward Devanahalli for a late-night dinner. On their return journey near Doddahullur, about one kilometer from the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, Rizwan reportedly lost control of the luxury SUV and slammed into the road divider with immense force.

Rescue and Investigation

Rescue teams and police launched a search operation but were unable to recover Rizwan's body due to darkness. His body was recovered on Saturday morning with the assistance of fire and emergency services personnel.

A case has been registered against Rizwan. Police confirmed he was married and survived by his wife and children. Saajiya worked part-time at a private firm. Speeding and reckless driving are suspected as primary causes of the crash. An officer noted that solar-powered CCTV cameras on the STRR were not functioning at the time of the incident.
