A seemingly minor altercation in Adarsh Nagar, Balongi, escalated into a fatal stabbing, with police arresting the primary suspect and his father within 48 hours of the incident. The murder weapon was also recovered during the investigation.
Incident Details
The victim, identified as Abhishek Kumar, was allegedly stabbed to death following a heated argument on the night of May 27. According to police reports, the accused, Munish Kumar (25), attacked Abhishek with a knife during a confrontation at his residence. The attack also left two others injured before the suspect fled the scene.
Police Response and Arrests
A case was registered at Balongi police station on May 28 based on a complaint filed by the victim's brother. Leveraging CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and intelligence inputs, law enforcement traced and apprehended Munna Yadav (40) on May 28. The main accused, Munish Kumar, was arrested the following day.
Both individuals were produced before a court and subsequently remanded to three-day police custody. During interrogation, the knife used in the crime was recovered on the disclosure of the accused.
Victim and Injured
Abhishek Kumar was pronounced dead upon arrival at Civil Hospital, Phase 6. The injured individuals, Prashant and Jyotish, are currently undergoing treatment for their wounds.

Officials have stated that a further probe is underway to ascertain all circumstances leading up to the incident. The investigation continues to rely on technical evidence and witness statements to build a comprehensive case.
