Unidentified miscreants fired multiple rounds at a tyre showroom in Rampura colony, Yamunanagar, late Saturday night, according to police. The attackers also pasted a handwritten threatening note at the scene before fleeing.
Discovery of the Incident
The incident came to light around 10 am on Sunday when employees arrived at the showroom and found bullet marks on the glass panels and empty cartridge shells scattered on the ground. A handwritten note was pasted beneath the main gate, reading: "This is just a trailer. The next bullet will hit your head."
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving information, police officials rushed to the spot, collected the empty cartridge shells and the threat note, and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the assailants and trace their movements. Manoj Kumar, SHO of City police station, Yamunanagar, said preliminary investigation suggests that six rounds of bullets were fired. He added that the owner of the tyre showroom had never received any extortion demand or threat.
Context and Security Concerns
The attack has raised security concerns in the area, with residents and business owners demanding increased police patrolling. The note's reference to an alleged terrorist has added to the tension. Police are exploring all angles, including personal enmity and extortion attempts, though no motive has been confirmed yet.
