Idukki: A ward member who had been reported missing from Mankulam was found inside the toilet of an abandoned house near Chikkanamkudy under mysterious circumstances on Monday.
The person, Dhanya Ganesan, was reportedly in poor health and was shifted to Adimali Taluk Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, Dhanya had left her home last Wednesday following family issues. She later reached her sister's house at Anpathu Acre. From there, she had informed that she was returning home but never arrived.
After two days, her husband Aneesh filed a missing complaint with police. Subsequently, a search operation was launched in and around Mankulam using drones and a dog squad.
Mankulam panchayat president Saju Jose has raised suspicion over the incident. He stated that the same location was inspected as recently as Sunday. He has demanded a detailed police investigation into the incident.
