A 30-year-old man who had been missing from Badnagar in Ujjain district since May 29 was found dead near Hatod in Indore district. His body was discovered in a sack, police said on Sunday.
Disappearance and Discovery
The deceased, identified as Sultan, was a resident of Pirjhalar village under Badnagar police station limits. He left his home on the night of May 29 and did not return. The following day, his family lodged a missing person report with the local police.
Badnagar police station in-charge Ashok Patidar stated that the body was found in the rural area of Hatod on Saturday. Upon receiving information about the recovery, a police team from Badnagar promptly reached the spot to investigate.
Identification Process
Police reported that the body was in a highly decomposed condition due to extreme heat and rain, making identification challenging. Sultan's wife was called to Hatod, where she identified the body based on his clothing and dental features, Patidar said.
A postmortem examination was conducted on Sunday. Hatod police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
