Missing Man's Body Found in Pond in Chatra

The body of a 30-year-old man, who had been missing for the past three days, was recovered from a pond in his native village under the Hunterganj police station limits of Chatra district late on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Dilip Singh, a resident of Jabda Pandeydih village.

Family's Account

Family members reported that Dilip, a father of two, left home on the evening of June 6 for a walk and did not return. Initially, his relatives assumed he had gone to visit his in-laws. However, when his wife returned from her parents' home with the children, it became clear that Dilip had never reached there. A search operation was subsequently launched by the family and local residents.

Discovery of the Body

On Tuesday, locals spotted a body floating in a pond, prompting them to inform the police. The authorities arrived at the scene and recovered the body. Prabhat Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Hunterganj police station, stated, "It appears to be a case of drowning. However, all other angles are also being investigated."
