The situation escalated when villagers intercepted Singh as he was allegedly trying to leave with the stolen goods on his motorcycle. When he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation during questioning, the crowd turned violent and began assaulting him. Police reports indicate the youth was later forced to admit to the theft under duress.
