Mobile phone dispute leads to fatal stabbing in Ludhiana

A minor dispute over a mobile phone spiraled into a fatal stabbing in the Dhillon Nagar area of Ludhiana on Monday, resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man. The accused has been taken into custody by the police.

Victim identified

The deceased was identified as Karanjit Singh, a resident of Basant Nagar in Lohara. According to the police, Karanjit was traveling with his cousin Gurinder Singh on Monday afternoon. When they reached Dhillon Nagar, they encountered a youth named Arjun.

An argument erupted between Karanjit and Arjun over a mobile phone, which quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

Attempted intervention and attack

Karanjit's brother, Gurinder, attempted to intervene and pacify the situation. Arjun initially tried to strike Karanjit with a brick, but Gurinder managed to shield him. However, Arjun then pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Karanjit directly in the chest. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Police response and arrest

Officers from the Daba police station arrived at the scene, secured the body, and sent it to the Civil Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. SHO of the Daba police station, Paramdeep Singh, stated that Arjun fled the area after the incident but was later apprehended by the police.
