Mohali police have successfully recovered the SUV involved in a recent road rage incident, along with the axe (gandasi) used in the attack. The recoveries were made based on disclosures provided by the two arrested accused, identified as Ansh and Vansh. Raids are currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
Incident Details
According to the complaint filed by Ekampreet Singh, a resident of Phase 11, Mohali, the incident occurred on the night of May 25, 2026. Singh stated that he was travelling in a Fortuner with his friend Maninder when a Thar jeep bearing a Chandigarh registration number, coming from Phase 10, overtook them. After some distance, they overtook the Thar.
When they reached the traffic lights near Phase 11, the youths in the Thar stopped their vehicle, accused them of racing, and started an argument. Singh alleged that five to six youths then got down from the Thar and attacked them with axes, sickles, and swords.
Police Action
Based on Ekampreet Singh's statement, the Mohali police registered a case of attempt to murder and arrested Ansh and Vansh. The recovery of the SUV and the axe has strengthened the case against the accused. Police are continuing their search for the remaining individuals involved in the attack.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation progresses.
