In a disturbing incident of road rage, a man was allegedly assaulted in the Sohana police station area of Mohali, prompting police to register a case against eight individuals. The victim, identified as Gurmanraj Singh, 35, a resident of Sohana village currently living in Sector 91, Mohali, reported the attack to authorities.

Details of the Assault

According to the police complaint, on February 20, at approximately 7:30 PM, Gurmanraj Singh was driving his car towards Sector 88 when his vehicle was obstructed by a youth and a woman on a motorcycle. He stated that despite repeatedly honking, they refused to give way, leading to a confrontation.

The situation escalated quickly when the youth on the motorcycle stopped, and another person approached from behind, attacking Singh on the head with a sharp weapon. Subsequently, about six boys and two girls surrounded him, beating him up severely. The assailants then dragged him into the street while threatening to kill him, adding to the trauma of the incident.

Aftermath and Police Action

An unknown bystander intervened, taking the injured Singh to a doctor for immediate medical attention. After receiving primary treatment, he was admitted to the civil hospital and discharged the following day. The police have registered a case based on his complaint and are conducting further investigations to apprehend the accused.
