Tragic Electrocution Claims Lives of Mother and Son in Gorakhpur Village
A devastating incident in Dadhwa village, located under the Sikriganj police station in Gorakhpur, has resulted in the deaths of a 45-year-old woman and her teenage son. The tragedy occurred on Monday when both individuals were electrocuted by an electric fence that had been illegally installed around a field.
Details of the Fatal Accident
According to police reports, the electric fence was connected to a shock machine intended to protect crops from stray cattle. Preliminary investigations by SHO Ashish Tiwari revealed that farmer Deendayal Maurya had improperly linked the fencing wire to a domestic electricity line. This dangerous setup caused a live current to flow through the fence, creating a lethal hazard.
The victims, identified as Rita Devi, aged 45, and her son Himanshu, aged 16, were working near the field at the time of the incident. Villagers reported that Himanshu was the first to be electrocuted after accidentally touching the fence. In a desperate attempt to save her son, Rita Devi rushed to his aid and also came into contact with the live wire. Tragically, both succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
