Motorcyclist Killed, Woman and Son Injured in Pune Crash

A tragic road accident occurred in Pune's Samarthnagar area in Kharadi late Sunday night, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist and leaving a woman and her three-year-old son critically injured. The incident took place around 10:30 pm when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with the motorcycle. Police constable Amol Jadhav (31) filed a complaint at the Kharadi police station.

Arrest and Investigation

Sub inspector Rahul Kolpe of Kharadi police stated, "We have arrested the SUV driver, Prasad More (25) of Wagholi, for rash and negligent driving causing the death of the motorcycle rider. More does not possess a valid driving license. After the accident, he removed the front and rear number plates in an attempt to destroy evidence." The arrest was made late Monday night.

Victims and Injuries

The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Pawan Bharambe (35), a resident of Wagholi. The injured individuals are Priya Tushar Kolhe (32) and her son Dipraj Tushar Kolhe (3), who are relatives of Bharambe. They sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.

Legal Proceedings

More was produced before a city court on Tuesday, which remanded him in police custody until June 5. The police are investigating whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol. "It is not known if he was driving the SUV in an inebriated condition," Kolpe added.

The Kharadi police are continuing their investigation into the accident, focusing on the driver's negligence and the removal of license plates to hamper the probe.
