Motorist drags petrol pump staffer, rams other vehicles

MUMBAI: An FIR is being registered against a motorist after he struck a petrol pump employee with his car, dragged him for a short distance, and then collided with other vehicles at a petrol station in Borivali East late Sunday night. The Kasturba Marg police have detained the suspect and sent him for a medical examination.

Incident Details

According to police, the motorist had a dispute with the supervisor at the petrol pump over the firing of his brother from his job at the pump last month. The two engaged in an altercation, following which the motorist attempted to run over the supervisor in his car. The supervisor held onto the bonnet of the vehicle and was dragged for a short distance. The motorist also rammed into other vehicles present at the pump.

Police Action

The Kasturba Marg police were informed and the suspect was taken into custody. Officials are currently in the process of registering an FIR against him. The medical examination will determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
