Motorist held for attempt to run over petrol pump staffer

A case of attempted murder has been registered against a motorist who allegedly tried to run over a petrol pump employee in Borivali East late Sunday night. The incident occurred at a fuel station where the accused, identified as B Dube, had a heated argument with a supervisor after being asked not to light a cigarette.

Grudge Over Brother's Firing

Police investigations revealed that Dube harbored a grudge against the supervisor, believing he was responsible for getting his brother fired from the same petrol pump a month earlier. The altercation escalated, leading Dube to get into his car and attempt to run over the supervisor.

Incident Details

The supervisor managed to hold onto the car's bonnet as Dube drove, dragging him for a short distance before crashing into other vehicles at the pump. CCTV footage captured the entire sequence of events. The Kasturba Marg police were alerted and detained Dube, sending him for a medical examination to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol.
