Mumbai: 21 IPS and SPS Officers Transferred in Routine Reshuffle

The Maharashtra state government on Thursday transferred 21 Indian Police Service (IPS) and State Police Service (SPS) officers following recommendations from the Police Establishment Board. Officials described the reshuffle as a routine administrative exercise.

Key Transfers

Among the prominent changes, Balasaheb Patil, who was serving as Superintendent of Police (Nashik Rural), has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Mumbai. Similarly, Somnath Gharge, Superintendent of Police of Ahilyanagar, has been transferred to the office of the Director General of Police.

Other officers, including Sandip Ghuge, Anurag Jain, and Gajanan Rajmane, have also been assigned as Deputy Commissioners of Police in Mumbai.

Routine Administrative Exercise

Sources at Mantralaya confirmed that these transfers are part of a regular administrative exercise carried out to streamline police administration and ensure efficient law enforcement across the state.

The reshuffle is expected to bring fresh perspectives to key positions in the Mumbai police force and other units.
