Mumbai Fire Incidents: Tardeo High-Rise and Malad Studio Blazes Under Control
Mumbai witnessed two separate fire incidents on Friday, with emergency services responding swiftly to contain blazes in different parts of the city. No injuries or fatalities were reported in either case, though property damage occurred at both locations.
Tardeo Residential High-Rise Fire
A fire broke out on Friday afternoon on the third floor of a residential high-rise building in Tardeo. According to preliminary information, the incident was reported at 12:44 pm by the Mumbai fire brigade control room.
The fire occurred at Sai Leela Cooperative Housing Society, located within the M P Mill Compound. The building is a ground-plus-16-storey structure, making it a significant residential complex in the area.
Firefighting teams rushed to the spot along with police personnel, BEST officials, and local ward staff. Immediate efforts were initiated to contain and douse the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other floors of the building.
While the fire was successfully brought under control, the exact cause of the blaze remains undetermined at this time. Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain what triggered the fire in the residential building.
Malad West Studio Fire
Earlier on Friday morning, a separate fire incident occurred at a studio on Madh Marve Road in Malad West. This blaze was reported at 6:13 am at Dana Pani Bular Studio, a popular shooting location in the area.
The fire was later classified as a Level I (minor) blaze at 6:48 am. It was confined to a ground-plus-one structure spread across approximately 3,000 square feet, affecting five to six galas within the studio complex.
Officials reported that the blaze involved multiple combustible materials including electrical installations, wallpapers, foam materials, carpets, PVC sheets, wooden and office furniture, perfumes, office records, shooting equipment, air conditioning units, and bamboo stock.
Firefighting operations were extensive, utilizing four fire engines, three jumbo tankers, and various other support units. Personnel deployed at the site included an assistant divisional fire officer, senior station officers, and station officers.
Additional support came from police forces, 108 ambulance services, and local ward staff who assisted in the operation. The coordinated effort resulted in the fire being brought under control and fully extinguished by 9:12 am.
Emergency Response and Safety Measures
The swift response by Mumbai's emergency services in both incidents highlights the city's preparedness for such emergencies. The fact that no injuries were reported in either fire demonstrates effective evacuation procedures and timely intervention by authorities.
