A 24-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with a screwdriver during a late-night argument over a financial matter in Sewree, Mumbai, early Friday, according to police. One of the accused has been arrested while two others are on the run.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Sameer Sheikh, 24, got into a heated dispute with three acquaintances near Minerva Compound, in front of a roadside tea stall, around 2:30 am. The argument reportedly stemmed from a debt linked to substance use.
Accused and Arrest
One of the arrested suspects has been identified as Kisan Pandey, 22, a resident of Ganesh Murthy Nagar slum in Cuffe Parade. According to police, the main accused, Jasim Sayed, allegedly retrieved a screwdriver from his parked scooter and stabbed Sheikh in the neck during the altercation.
Witnesses rushed the injured man to KEM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A case of murder has been registered at Sewree Police Station. Sayed, along with another suspect named Rizwan Sheikh, is wanted in connection with the crime. Police are investigating further.
