A 40-year-old woman from Dahisar has filed a police complaint against a man for stalking her and demanding sexual favors. When she refused, he threatened to publish defamatory news reports against her in local news outlets. The Dahisar Police have registered an FIR for sexual harassment, stalking, intimidation, and defamation against the accused.
Background of the Complainant
The complainant works at a cooperative credit society and is involved in collection work. Her job typically requires her to visit the Dahisar vegetable market area and the Borivali RTO area. Her husband works as a tempo driver.
Incident Details
According to her complaint, the accused first confronted her at the Dahisar vegetable market area in April 2026 while she was working. He accused her of holding two autorickshaw permits in her name and demanded that she meet him alone in the evening, or else news reports about her dual permits would appear in local news outlets. The complainant did not comply. On April 27, a news report about her permits was published in a local publication. Despite this, she still refused to meet him, even as he continued to stalk her at her workplace.
Escalation of Harassment
On May 19, she filed a non-cognizable complaint against him at the MHB Colony police station after he harassed her near the Borivali RTO area. On June 3, she spotted him again at the Dahisar vegetable market and warned him to stop stalking her. In response, he demanded sexual favors. Shocked, she questioned his remarks, after which he used abusive language, made derogatory comments, and threatened to publish more defamatory stories about her.
Legal Action
The complainant eventually approached the Dahisar police station and lodged a formal complaint. An FIR was registered on June 5, and police are conducting further investigations.
