Murder Accused Brutally Hacked to Death in Pudukottai, Police Suspect Revenge Motive
In a shocking incident of violence, a 31-year-old murder accused was brutally hacked to death by an armed gang in Pudukottai on Thursday. The police are investigating the case as a suspected revenge killing, linking it to a previous murder from last year.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The deceased has been identified as K Jayasuman, a resident of Gandhinagar. According to police sources, Jayasuman was an accused in the murder of Dinesh Kumar, which occurred near Pudhukulam on June 4 last year. He had recently been released on bail, raising questions about his safety upon returning to the community.
On the day of the incident, Jayasuman went to a liquor shop near the Ashok Nagar bus stop along with his friend Raj Kapoor. They were traveling on a two-wheeler on the Pudukottai–Alangudi Road when a six-member gang intercepted them near the Alangudi bus stop. Upon seeing the armed assailants, Raj Kapoor managed to flee the scene, but Jayasuman was not as fortunate.
The gang attacked Jayasuman with deadly weapons, hacking him to death on the spot. The brutality of the assault has left the local community in shock and heightened concerns about law and order in the area.
Police Investigation and Post-Mortem
Following the incident, the Pudukottai police swiftly responded, sending the body to the Government Medical College hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Ganesh Nagar police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter.
