Nagpur: The rural police solved a murder case within just six hours of registering the FIR. A relative was arrested for killing a 65-year-old man from Akoli village.
The deceased, Vinayak Tumdam (65), a resident of Kuhi taluka, was allegedly murdered with a sharp weapon between 1pm and 5pm on June 13. His wife, Anjana, lodged a complaint at Kuhi police station on June 14, leading to the registration of a murder case against an unidentified accused.
Acting on informers' inputs and technical evidence, Kuhi police, under SP Rural Harssh A Poddar and additional SP Anil Mhaske, swung into action.
The Kuhi police traced and arrested the accused, Vijay Tumdam (35), also a resident of Akoli, from Pachgaon. The accused is a relative of the deceased and confessed to having committed the murder over domestic disputes.
