The victim, Mahendra Sah, a 38-year-old resident of Ramdarbar phase 2, reported that Deepak arrived on a bike around 11:15 am. Deepak blocked Sah's way while he was selling vegetables from his cart in Ramdarbar. In a brazen act, Deepak pulled out a knife and snatched Sah's silver chain from his neck, along with Rs 200-300 in cash and his Aadhaar card from his pocket. The accused also issued a chilling threat, warning Sah that he would be killed if he returned to the area, instilling fear in the local community.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Based on the victim's statement, the Sector 31 police promptly registered a case and arrested Deepak on Tuesday. During the investigation, police claimed to have recovered the knife used in the crime and the stolen documents belonging to the victim. The accused was produced before the local court, which granted a one-day police remand for further interrogation, allowing authorities to delve deeper into his criminal activities and possible connections to other offenses.
