In response to a recent operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Mysuru city police have significantly enhanced their patrolling activities across industrial areas. A day after the NCB's intervention, Mysuru city police organized a crucial meeting on Thursday. This gathering, held at a convention hall near Sankranthi Circle, brought together owners and representatives of industrial units. During the session, police officials urged industry stakeholders to remain vigilant and conduct internal checks to confirm that their premises are not being used for any illegal activities, including the storage of suspicious materials or unauthorized production.
Essential Cooperation from Industry Owners
Officials emphasized that cooperation from industry owners is vital for the success of these enforcement efforts. This collaboration is particularly important in identifying abandoned or underutilized facilities that might be vulnerable to exploitation. Police Commissioner Seema Latkar informed that owners and representatives from 194 manufacturing units in the Hebbal industrial area attended the meeting.

- Monitoring workers closely, especially those from outstation, and verifying their backgrounds before employment.
- Conducting thorough checks on the activities of tenants in cases where management is contracted out.
- Obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from relevant departments and promptly informing police about any suspicious activities in the vicinity.
Details of the NCB Operation
The heightened police activity follows a search conducted by NCB officials from New Delhi at a phenyl manufacturing unit located in the Hebbal Industrial Area. This operation was part of an ongoing case. According to Commissioner Seema Latkar, the NCB team searched the premises in north Mysuru and subsequently returned after informing the proprietor that operations could resume. It was clarified that no materials were seized from the unit during this search.
