Mysuru Armed Police Batch Graduates with Focus on Discipline and Modern Policing

At the CAR grounds near Chamundi Hills on Tuesday, the passing-out parade for the 8th batch of armed police trainees marked a significant milestone, with Southern Range Inspector General of Police MB Boralingaiah delivering a powerful address on the core values of law enforcement.

IGP Stresses Compassion and Continuous Learning

IGP Boralingaiah underscored that wearing the police uniform carries immense responsibility, urging the new officers to approach every visitor, especially those in distress, with compassion, kindness, and deep understanding. He highlighted that humane policing is not just a duty but a fundamental aspect of building public trust.

Furthermore, he emphasized the critical need for officers to stay updated with modern technology-driven investigations. In an era where crime methods evolve rapidly, adopting a mindset of continuous learning is essential for effective policing and maintaining an edge in investigative techniques.

Diverse Batch Composition and Rural Representation

This graduating batch showcased remarkable diversity in educational and geographical backgrounds. It included 19 engineering graduates, six postgraduates, 110 graduates, and one nursing graduate, reflecting a blend of technical and academic expertise.

Geographically, 144 recruits hailed from rural areas, while six were from urban backgrounds, emphasizing strong representation from countryside regions and a commitment to inclusive recruitment practices.

Awards Ceremony Recognizes Top Performers

In the awards segment, Sanjay Manobai of Bengaluru received the prestigious ‘Sarvothama’ (Best All-rounder) Award for outstanding overall performance. Other officers recognized for excellence in specific areas included:

  • Akash Desai
  • Juned Pasha
  • AY Raghavendra

These awards were given for top performances in indoor activities, outdoor drills, and rifle shooting, highlighting the high standards and rigorous training of the new officers.

The ceremony, organized by the Temporary Police Training School, was attended by several senior police and administrative officials. Notable attendees included:

  • KPA Deputy Director SL Chennabasavanna
  • CESC Vigilance SP Savitha Hoogar

Other Deputy Commissioners of Police and administrative heads were also present, showing strong institutional support for the new recruits.

The event culminated with a disciplined parade by the 150 trainees, who performed rhythmic marches to the tunes of the police band. This display of coordination and precision underscored the rigorous training and preparation that defines the armed police force in Karnataka.
