Nagaur Horror: Elderly Woman's Mutilated Body Found in Multiple Locations Sparks Protests

Protests have continued unabated in Rajasthan's Nagaur district since Monday following the gruesome discovery of a mutilated elderly woman's body recovered from multiple separate locations. The incident has ignited widespread outrage and fueled fears of a meticulously planned murder in the region.

Victim Identified as 70-Year-Old Nathi Devi

Police have officially identified the victim as Nathi Devi, aged 70, a resident of Paldi village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Padu Kalan police station. According to initial police reports, Nathi Devi left her home around 11 am on Sunday, informing her family that she was heading to the local market. However, she never returned, prompting her worried family to initiate a search when she failed to come back by late evening.

Discovery of the Body and Subsequent Investigation

On Monday at approximately 11:30 am, authorities were alerted after a man grazing goats outside the village stumbled upon a suspicious sack near some bushes in a secluded area. Upon inspection, he discovered the body of an elderly woman inside and immediately alerted nearby villagers. Police swiftly arrived at the scene, conducted a thorough inspection, and launched a formal investigation. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination after officials managed to pacify the agitated locals who had gathered at the site by Wednesday.

During the extensive search operation, investigators made several harrowing discoveries. The woman's severed head was recovered about five kilometers away from the primary location. Additionally, her feet were found in a field nearly two kilometers from the main spot. In one particularly disturbing instance, a passerby reported seeing a dog carrying a severed foot, which ultimately led police to another recovery site.

Police Statements and Ongoing Probe

Nagaur Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena confirmed that all body parts have now been recovered and the investigation is actively progressing. "The investigation is underway. We cannot rule out any possibility just yet," he stated, emphasizing that while robbery is one suspected motive, no definitive angle has been confirmed at this stage. Police have detained several individuals for questioning and expressed confidence in cracking the case within the coming days. Further investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the circumstances surrounding this brutal crime.
