Nagpur Auto Driver's Home Burgled: Rs 10 Lakh Cash, Jewellery Stolen During Hospital Visit
In a shocking incident in Nagpur, a family's absence due to a medical emergency led to a major theft at their residence in the Siraspeth area. The home of autorickshaw driver Rajesh Tikle, 39, was targeted by burglars, resulting in the loss of cash and gold-silver ornaments valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh.
Details of the Theft
The theft occurred between 4 pm on April 13 and 8 am on April 17, while the Tikle family was away from their home in Telangipura, located behind Priya Bar. The family had rushed to the hospital after Rajesh Tikle's mother, Shakuntalabai, was injured in an accident on April 13. Taking advantage of the unattended house, the burglar made off with significant valuables.
Stolen items included:
- Cash amounting to Rs 4.50 lakh
- Gold and silver ornaments with an estimated value of Rs 5.67 lakh
This brings the total loss to around Rs 10.17 lakh, causing severe distress to the already troubled family.
Police Investigation Underway
Upon discovering the theft, Rajesh Tikle immediately reported the incident to the authorities. A case has been registered at the Imambada police station under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against an unknown person. Police are currently investigating the matter, reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence to identify the perpetrator.
This incident highlights the vulnerability of homes left unattended during emergencies and underscores the need for heightened security measures in residential areas. The Tikle family, already coping with the mother's accident, now faces additional financial and emotional hardship due to this burglary.
