Nagpur Gangster Survives Shooting, Assault in Mankapur Late-Night Attack
A 36-year-old alleged gangster had a narrow escape from death after being targeted in a violent shooting and assault incident near the Lumbini Nagar gate in Mankapur, Nagpur, late on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Isan Akil Khan, reportedly associated with the notorious Baba Tiger gang, was standing outside a monastery around 8:30 PM when the attack unfolded.
Details of the Violent Encounter
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed at the Mankapur police station, three men arrived on a motorcycle at the scene. The main accused, Karim Lala (45), allegedly fired two rounds from a black pistol directly at Khan. Miraculously, both bullets missed their target, allowing Khan to avoid being hit by the gunfire.
However, the assault did not end there. Lala then proceeded to strike Khan on the right eye with the butt of the gun, causing significant injury. Accompanied by an accomplice named Pammu (46) and two other unidentified individuals, the group overpowered Khan and subjected him to a brutal beating before fleeing the location on their motorcycle.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Khan sustained injuries to his eye and various other parts of his body but was reported to be in stable condition following the attack. The Mankapur police have registered a comprehensive case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically sections 109, 115(2), 352, and 3(5) read with Section 34, which pertain to criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder, assault, and other related offenses.
Additionally, charges have been filed under Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act for illegal possession and use of firearms. As of the latest updates, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident. Investigators are actively pursuing leads and have indicated that the attack likely stemmed from personal enmity between the parties involved.
