Nagpur Man Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances; Family Points Finger at Wife

In a tragic incident in Nagpur, a 32-year-old man named Roshan Shingare, a resident of Jay Nagar in Pandhrabodi under the Ambazari police station limits, passed away on Monday under mysterious circumstances at his home. The death has sparked allegations of foul play from family members, who suspect the involvement of Roshan's wife, Pragya.

Details of the Incident and Family Allegations

According to preliminary information, Roshan had been unwell for several days prior to his death. Despite his health issues, he reportedly continued to consume liquor at home. Police stated that Pragya rushed Roshan to Mayo Hospital after he failed to respond to her repeated attempts to wake him up. Upon arrival, doctors at Mayo Hospital declared him dead.

Relatives of the deceased have accused Pragya of assaulting Roshan, claiming that this led to his untimely demise. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Currently, an accidental death (AD) report has been registered by the authorities, with further action contingent on the autopsy findings.

History of Domestic Violence and Previous Incidents

Family members revealed that the couple often engaged in heated arguments and fights. They alleged that in September of last year, during a quarrel, Pragya smashed a liquor bottle on Roshan's head, causing significant bleeding. Following this incident, Pragya was charged with attempt to murder and was arrested by the Ambazari police. She reportedly spent time in jail as a result, according to family claims.

Police sources indicated that both Roshan and Pragya were addicted to liquor and worked as petty labourers to make ends meet. The couple had a documented history of frequent violent altercations, particularly when under the influence of alcohol.

Police Investigation and Future Steps

Family members of the deceased are demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter. Senior police officials from the Ambazari police station have stated that they are awaiting the postmortem report before proceeding further. A police officer explained, "We have registered the death as an accidental case for now, but if the autopsy indicates any foul play or injury consistent with assault, appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including those related to culpable homicide or murder, will be invoked."

The case remains under active investigation, with authorities emphasizing the need for conclusive evidence from the autopsy to determine the next course of action.
