The convicted individual, identified as 56-year-old Ganpat Jaipurkar, a resident of the Pardi area in Nagpur, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl. The horrific incident occurred on September 15, 2024, when the young victim's parents were away at work, leaving her vulnerable.
Following the assault, the girl's parents promptly filed a formal complaint with the Pardi police station. Law enforcement agencies acted swiftly, utilizing crucial evidence from CCTV footage to identify and apprehend Jaipurkar. He was arrested on September 21, 2024, just six days after the crime was reported.
Expedited Legal Proceedings and Conviction
The investigation into this sensitive case was notably efficient. Investigating Officer Mira Sawant completed and filed the chargesheet within an impressive 23 days of the arrest, ensuring the legal process moved forward without unnecessary delay.
In the courtroom, Special Public Prosecutor Kalpana Pandey presented the case, leading to a successful conviction. Remarkably, the entire trial from arrest to verdict was concluded in approximately 14 months, a relatively swift timeline for such a serious criminal proceeding.
