Nagpur Man Kills Brother Over Rs 5,000 Dispute

A 43-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly bludgeoning his younger brother to death with an iron rod over a dispute involving just Rs 5,000 in Nagpur's Hiwari Nagar area. The incident occurred late Sunday night in Bhim Chowk.

Details of the Incident

According to police, the accused, identified as Bhagwan Babule, suspected that his brother Pradeep Babule (39) had stolen Rs 5,000 from him. When Pradeep denied the allegation, a heated argument ensued between the brothers. The situation quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

Weapon Used

During the altercation, Bhagwan allegedly picked up an iron rod, commonly known as a 'Tommy bar' used for changing vehicle tyres. He repeatedly struck Pradeep on the head with the rod, causing fatal injuries. Pradeep died on the spot.

Police Response

A team from the Nandanvan police station promptly arrived at the scene after receiving information. They registered a case of murder and arrested Bhagwan from the location. The body of the deceased was sent to a hospital for autopsy.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The accused remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
