According to official reports, the Narkhed police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on February 21, following an oral complaint lodged by the survivor's elder sister. The FIR states that the incident took place on the evening of February 20, around 9:30 PM.
The survivor, who has been suffering from mental health issues since birth, reportedly left her home at that time. Her family initially assumed she had gone to use the bathroom, but grew concerned when she did not return promptly.
Discovery and Immediate Aftermath
The family launched an urgent search throughout their neighbourhood. At approximately 10:00 PM, near some bushes on the riverbank, they made a horrifying discovery. The family reportedly found the minor boy, who is also a resident of the same neighbourhood, sexually assaulting the survivor.
Upon witnessing this act, the family immediately raised an alarm. Startled by their intervention, the accused boy fled from the spot, leaving his clothes behind in his haste to escape. The family then rushed the survivor to the Narkhed police station to formally lodge their complaint.

The survivor, who attended a special school in Narkhed between 2014 and 2017, currently lives with her father, stepmother, and younger brother. Recognizing the sensitive nature of the case and the survivor's specific needs, the police department has sought assistance from the women and child development department.
