Nagpur Crime Branch Makes Major Drug Bust, Arrests 23-Year-Old with Mephedrone

The arrest led to the seizure of 51 grams of MD (mephedrone) powder, with an estimated street value of Rs 2.50 lakh. The patrolling team intercepted Prathamesh L Solanki, who was riding a moped without a number plate near Solankiwadi in the Sakkardara area. Upon conducting a thorough search, authorities recovered the mephedrone powder along with Rs 40,000 in cash, a mobile phone, an electronic weighing scale, and an Aadhaar card. The total value of the seizure, including all items, was calculated at Rs 3.65 lakh.

During interrogation, Solanki revealed that he had purchased the contraband from his accomplice, identified as Sahil Solanki, aged 30, from Rameshwari. Notably, Prathamesh Solanki had been released from jail approximately a month ago in connection with a previous narcotics case, highlighting a pattern of involvement in drug-related activities.
The police have registered a case under Sections 8(a), 22(a), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Sakkardara police station. This legal action reflects the seriousness of the offense and the commitment to prosecuting those involved in the illicit drug trade.
